Michigan entreprenuer Eric Franklin (who runs  lab-grown diamonds store D.NEA) is working on a very interesting and unique side business, the Open Source Store. The store is a fun way to support the Open Source movement by buying branded items. The first thing available for sale are some really cool open source coins shown below.

The coins come packaged in a clear protective case...

allcoins Each coin currently retails for $19.99 with 50% of all profits donated to Free Software Foundation. So if you are a Linux nut and want to support a Michigan start-up be sure to check out the Open Source Store.

This is hilarious. What a great idea! How about some XT-Commerce or Magento coins as well?
